Hello Dragfyre! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.

If you are a Wikipedian then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:

It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Wikivoyage:Help, or else post a message in the travellers' pub or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing! --Saqib (talk) 14:58, 18 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! I feel welcome :) --Dragfyre (talk) 18:50, 19 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
Great! And thanks for all the excellent content you've been inserting! I'm not sure about some of the hotel photos, though. Please have a look at Wikivoyage:Listings#Avoid using images and see what you think. Here's the relevant paragraph:
"Images of businesses, including hotels and their bedrooms, are generally not used. The only exceptions are if the business is a well-known attraction in its own right, or if the image is of a type of accommodation that is unusual and unique to the region. In the second case, identifying the lodgings where the picture was taken by name is not necessary."
And the "money" quote: "The Raffles is an icon of Singapore — the Holiday Inn is not."
You know Da Nang, and I don't. Is the Furama an icon of Da Nang, or just a slightly East Asian-looking luxury resort? Ikan Kekek (talk) 17:38, 21 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
Ahh, I see. I tried to browse through to find the image policy you were referring to before-- should've just searched :/ To answer your question, although the Furama is well-known as a hotel, it isn't particularly an icon or an attraction. Since the policy's fairly clear about it, I'll remove the pic as it doesn't really add much. Thanks for the heads up and the link. --Dragfyre (talk) 17:45, 21 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I noticed later that image policy didn't lead anywhere. I just recreated a redirect from there to Wikivoyage:Image policy, but the Listings page is actually the most useful one for this. Ikan Kekek (talk) 17:49, 21 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
