Add topicHello, Mlevy1010! Thank you for contributing to Wikivoyage, but please note that one or more of your recent edits has been reverted as it appeared to be an attempt to use this site to advertise or promote a business or service. Wikivoyage is created by travellers for travellers, and while business owners and employees are welcome to contribute, use of this site for promotional purposes is not allowed.
If you feel that your edits were incorrectly identified as promotional, please read Wikivoyage's guidelines on identifying promotional edits. If, after reading that guideline, you still feel your edits were incorrectly removed, please use this talk page or the talk page of the article where your edit was removed to explain why your change was not promotional. Note that it is very important that you discuss your proposed change before re-adding it since repeated promotional edits can lead to a temporary block of your account's ability to edit Wikivoyage, and in serious cases the business in question may be blacklisted from Wikivoyage. - Hello, Ibaman! How are you? Regarding the recent edit you reverted, would love to discuss! I added CharterUP because it offers bus renting services across the country (49 of 50 states), similar to some of the other companies on the list. I listed it in alphabetical order as well. I've used the service before. Would the following be better?
- "CharterUP''', a marketplace for bus charters, servicing 49 US states." Mlevy1010 (talk) 16:31, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
- I'm fine, thank you. Thanks for your concern and politeness. Please take a look at our External links#What not to link to and what the list includes:
- Blogs, forums and social networking sites (Facebook, etc), with the exception of when a business has no other official web presence
- Lists of links, service directories (including Wi-Fi directories)
- Price comparison websites
- Map services
- Newspaper and magazine articles
- Personal image galleries and photo/video sharing websites (Flickr, Webshots, YouTube, etc)
- Personal travelogues
- Search engine results (e.g., http://www.google.com/search?q=Montreal)
If you disagree that CharterUp falls under one or more of these categories, please state your case in Talk:Long-distance bus travel in the United States. Happy editings, Ibaman (talk) 16:41, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
- Sure, I will. CharterUP is not any of those listed above, especially not a price comparison website or search engine. They have real people serving as 24/7 support connecting people needing buses and handle the entire reservation process, including supplying the physical buses and day of trip logistics. Thanks for the dialogue and I'll submit this to Talk:Long-distance bus travel in the United States. Appreciate your time! Mlevy1010 (talk) 16:49, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
