Thanks for the information. I took the time to enter a good amount of information simply to have it removed by you. It was pretty objective in nature, but I get it. Not appropriate. No worries. I understand the links to independent tour operators having no place in wikipedia, but on the voyage site. Travelers are showing up with outdated information in publications such as Fromers, Blue Planet, or Central America on a Shoe String. This could be a tool with up to date information and give more relevance and traffic to wikivoyage, but not if you disagree. - Hi, User:Roatandiver. It was I who removed the specific listings you added to the Scuba diving article, and not because they can't be added anywhere, but because that article can't be filled up with dozens of listings for every diving site but needs to function as an overview. Please have a look at my editing summary here. If any of those dive clubs are not yet listed in the guides for the particular towns on Roatan where they are located, please add the listings to those articles, and indeed, please make them more detailed, with addresses, telephone numbers, etc. Let us know if we can help you in any way.

- I'm sorry, but I reverted your edit in Roatán. It's very important for you to read the don't tout page and to avoid using "we are" and so forth. Also, Roatán is a region, so please list in the article for the relevant town, rather than the Roatán guide. Thanks. Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:15, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

- Unfortunately, there's a bit of a learning curve for new posters here, and if you can think of any ways to decrease its slope, that would be great. Article for diving in Roatan[edit]
Hi Roatandiver, As you will have noticed by now there is a balance we try to maintain between providing good information to the traveler and avoiding commercially promotional material. You can promote Roatan by providing useful, factual information, and helping to build a travel guide that shows the real attraction of the destination without spin, puffery and hyperbole. I have been working on dive guide articles for years, so I can usually judge what will be acceptable here. I want to encourage you to create a good, balanced and useful article on diving in Roatan. Information about the sites is useful, photos of your local environment are useful. location data such as you have already tabulated is useful. Accurate and realistic descriptions of the sites are useful. Information on when to dive, what the weather and water conditions are likely to be are useful. Tell people what equipment they need to use, if it is anything beyond the standard, tell them how to get to the sites, how much the dives cost, what seasons are best, depth at the sites, hazards, if they exist. Try to be reasonably objective and reasonably accurate. Never claim something is the best unless you can back it up with an independent survey by experts without any conflict of interest. Even then, be careful. Read a few of the existing articles, and get a feel for the standard layout of a dive guide article. Wikivoyage tries to maintain a house style of a sort, with similar section headings and order, so that the site has a consistent feel.
My suggestion is that you create a draft article User:Roatandiver/Diving in Roatan and start adding content. I will help you with formatting and style, until you are more familiar with the procedures, and when the article is good enough we can move it into main space. If you have suitable photos which are relevant, and can be licensed CC-by-sa 4.0 or PD, then you can upload as many as you like to Wikimedia commons.
