Add topicHello, Rocknlakes! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.
All the best,
Preaching
[edit]Hi. Re: this edit: In addition to my edit summary, I'd refer you to Wikivoyage:Don't tout, but I would also just say that preaching is not at all what a travel guide is about.
All the best,
Where to put listings
[edit]Hello again. I want to give you a useful link: Wikivoyage:Where you can stick it. That link is a good resource for finding out which sections different kinds of listings normally are put into. For example, a town hall isn't a "Connect" listing unless it's listed for its Wi-Fi. It could be a "See" listing if it's a pretty town hall, or it could be an "Understand" listing if it's mainly a place to get tourism information.
Also, please never put anything else on the same line as a subtitle. When you do that, the subtitle becomes invisible. And also, if you want to insert a "Sleep" listing, it has to be put _below_ and not _above_ the "Sleep" subheading.
Please let me know if you have any questions about anything, and thanks for adding all that content!
All the best,

- You're welcome. And another little tip: On talk pages (only) it's customary to sign the ends of posts by typing 4 tildes (the ~ key) in a row. That shows who posted what, which can be especially useful to see in longer exchanges. Ikan Kekek (talk) 05:07, 7 September 2016 (UTC)

Don't tout
[edit]Re: this edit: You need to read Wikivoyage:Don't tout. Read it carefully. It's not OK to use 1st-person language or put up two listings for the same business. Read the link! Thanks. Ikan Kekek (talk) 03:51, 21 February 2020 (UTC)
"image" tab
[edit]Nothing but a filename of a photo that's on Wikimedia Commons can be in the "image" tab of any listing. Thank you. Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:42, 22 February 2020 (UTC)
Beaver Dam
[edit]Why didn't you do a search for Beaver Dam? Please edit that article as appropriate. The article you started is not in keeping with Wikivoyage:Naming conventions or normal capitalization. Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:38, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
