Hello, Safarisue! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.

By the way, thanks for all your hard work on the Elounda page. If you have any questions, you can contact me on my talk page if you like. Happy editing! JamesA >talk 14:00, 29 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks James! It's nice to get feedback. I am a complete newbie here & with a full-time job, so any & all tips or feedback are welcome. Living here on Crete, I just could not leave those pages the way they were. Editing Crete is a huge project. I'll officially be retired soon, so wait till I sink my teeth into the East Africa pages! —The preceding comment was added by Safarisue (talkcontribs)

Crete[edit]

I'm leaving you a message on Crete, being you the most recent & important contributor.

On 2011 the administrative division has changed, modifying the prefecture in regional unit. The basic effect is the name change of theese 4 areas. My suggestion is to change the 4 page titles into the new ones mentioning the old one inside each article. What do you think?

PS: usually it's better to divide a territory into geographic/historic/turistic areas, but in this case that an administrative division is in place, I would just update it. --Andyrom75 (talk) 07:21, 13 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Andy. Not sure what you mean about the administrative division changing? The four regions listed are still the same four administrative prefectures. There have been recent changes in some municipalities within those four prefectures. The division of the island into the four regions, each of which stretch from north to south, does coincidentally divide the territory into geographic/turistic/historic areas. There is of course some overlapping, but otherwise it is a handy way for tourists to get oriented. —The preceding comment was added by Safarisue (talkcontribs)
