Thanks for adding content to articles about Beijing, but when you add listings, please do not delete unused tabs or put 0 in lat/long. I also edited the listing for the Mandarin language school to comply with the policy set out on the Wikivoyage:Don't tout page.

Don't tout

Please, read Wikivoyage:Don't tout. Most if not all of the listings you're adding are promotional in character, and some of them even have first person pronouns. If you are a paid publicist, you are not allowed to add any new listings at all (there is a single exception to this, who proved his commitment to Wikivoyage policies for months before he was permitted to add his own listings), but if you adhere very closely to the prohibition on promotional language and tone, it's unlikely that anyone will remove your listings. Right now, though, you are giving us volunteer editors a lot of work, and if that continues, it's likely that people will start reverting (deleting) listings.

In addition, it's really important for you to stop putting zeroes in the "lat" and "long" tabs in listings. Latitude and longitude have real meaning, as I think you know, because you've added some real lat/long coordinates. No part of China is remotely close to 0/0 lat/long! Hi, I am new to Beijing and this is the first time I have been in this city. I am new to the Travel and Tourism Industry and thats the reason why I decided to come to Beijing in order for me to gain some experience. I thought of getting the information from the company website, as I thought that's how this works and I also needed to get the Chinese address. I have been in Beijing for 3 months now and have visited many places and restaurants and I thought this was my chance to use this system and get involved. —The preceding comment was added by Sudhir9910 (talk • contribs)

Thanks for responding. It's definitely good to get information from companies' websites, but it's bad to quote promotional language verbatim, and if you are copying and pasting directly from websites, you are also very likely violating their copyrights. No reason to be overly sorry; everyone experiences a learning curve on this site. I did, too.

One very small thing: On talk pages (only), it's customary to "sign" each post by typing 4 tildes (~) in a row at the end of your comment.
