The cleanup is mostly done. If you stumble upon a map that still has a logo, please, clean it yourself. Otherwise, drop a message to me or to anyone who took part in the project.

Goals:

  • Remove logos and other elements that are irrelevant to Wikivoyage
  • Check that maps are properly linked and categorized

What to do:

  • Identify maps that require cleanup, and add them to the list
  • Check if the map is used by at least one language version
Unused maps can be deleted right away. Please, add them to the list of obsolete maps here
Maps in use should be cleaned up and re-uploaded
If a map in use can not be restored immediately, it should be removed and added to the list
  • For the cleanup, find the source SVG file, remove the logo and other unnecessary elements, export PNG, re-upload both modified SVG and new PNG
  • If svg is broken or not available, erase the logo in the PNG file and re-upload
  • Make sure that each map is in the appropriate {{map|}} category. It is also good to add links from PNG to SVG, and vice versa
