Lisbon is a town in the Coteaus and Plains area of North Dakota. It has a population of about 2,292 people. Elevation: 1,091 feet.

The original owners of the town site came to North Dakota from Lisbon, NY and Lisbon, IL. The farming and ranching community sits on the banks of the Sheyenne River.

  • By car: Lisbon is sited at the junction of state highways 32 and 27. From I-94, take exit 302 south for about 39 miles. Or from Fargo, take I-29 south for 17 miles to state highway 46 west for 41 miles to SH-32 south. From Wahpeton, west on ND-13 for 50 miles to ND-32 north.
  • By air, Lisbon Municipal Airport

  • Sheyenne River Speedway (Ransom County Fairgrounds). Dirt track racing, WISSOTA classes, mini trucks. Open May to September, race nights 6:30PM. Admission: Adults $8, seniors $7, children 6-12 $4, 5-under free.

Lisbon is at the south end of the Sheyenne Valley Scenic Byway which runs north through Valley City to Cooperstown in Griggs County.
