Monagas is the site of extensive exploration for extra heavy oil, a sludge-like fuel that Venezuela possesses in vast quantities.

José Antonio Anzoátegui International Airport (BLA  IATA) is the main airport of Anzoátegui state and is located in Barcelona. In the city of Anaco, there is also the National Airport of Anaco (AAO  IATA), in the same way in the city of San Tomé, there is the Don Edmundo Barrios Airport (SOM  IATA).

By boat

The company Conferry and Gran Cacique Express offer the service from Margarita Island (Nueva Esparta State) to the city of Puerto La Cruz and Guant. There are boats that allow the transfer of cars, however there are boats that only offer the passenger trip.

By bus

The buses from many states of Venezuela go to the Puerto La Cruz Terminal. There are companies such as Aeroexpresos Ejecutivos in the Conferry Terminal, in which you can arrive from Barquisimeto, Caracas , Valencia and Maracay.
