Rusinga Island is on Lake Victoria in Western Kenya. Like the waters surrounding it, Rusinga is a mellow and relaxed place.

Conveniently, Rusinga Island is connected to the town of Mbita Point by a causeway. Matatus (minibuses) from Homa Bay to Mbita Point take about 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus from Kisumu, which takes about 5 hours.
