Cities

Map
Map of Central Haiti
  • 1 Port-au-Prince (Pòtoprens) — the big chaotic capital that needs no introduction.
  • 2 Hinche Hinche on Wikipedia (Ench)
  • 3 Kenscoff Kenscoff on Wikipedia — a cool mountain retreat from the hectic life of Port-au-Prince.
  • 4 Mirebalais Mirebalais on Wikipedia
  • 5 Pétion-Ville — the wealthy side of Port-au-Prince, just to its south.
  • 6 Saint-Marc (Sen Mak) — a busy port serving the populous north central section of the country.
  • 7 Verrettes Verrettes on Wikipedia (Vèrèt) — a small city with low crime and a busy live music/nightlife scene.

Other destinations

  • 1 Gonâve Island Gonâve Island on Wikipedia — Haiti's largest island is a nightmarish vision—the island is ecologically devastated and overpopulated with, essentially, the poorest of the poor who were forcefully relocated by the government to here from Port-au-Prince. Less than a third of the island's population has access to potable drinking water. There are no tourist attractions on this one-time tropical island paradise; no hotels.

This region travel guide to Central Haiti is an outline and may need more content. It has a template, but there is not enough information present. If there are Cities and Other destinations listed, they may not all be at usable status or there may not be a valid regional structure and a "Get in" section describing all of the typical ways to get here.
