New Stanton is a borough in Pennsylvania's Laurel Highlands. Though the town itself is small, its importance as a transportation hub — Interstate 70, US 119, the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76), and the Amos Hutchinson Bypass (State Route 66) all converge here — has led to the growth of a huge cluster of hotels, restaurants, gas stations, and convenience stores around the enormous interchange.

A huge selection of national fast-food (Wendy's, Subway, McDonald's) and casual-dining (Pizza Hut, Eat 'n Park, Bob Evans, Cracker Barrel) chains clustered around the Turnpike ramps, along with a couple mom-and-pop eateries.

Budget

  • 1 Econo Lodge New Stanton I-70, 110 N. Main St., +1 724 925-6755. Check-in: 3PM, check-out: 11AM. About as spartan as a motel can be and still stay recommendable. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are generally clean, and unlike (say) the Budget Inn across the street, your fellow guests are mostly budget-conscious travellers rather than homeless transients or prostitutes with their clients. But the building is comically dated and practically screaming out for proper renovations. Rooms each come with a wall-mounted flat-screen TV, microwave and mini-fridge, and coffee pot, and free WiFi covers the entire property. Breakfast is offered daily but consists only of coffee, cereal, and a meager variety of baked goods; luckily the highway interchange — and practically every fast-food and casual-dining chain restaurant you can imagine — is just a few short blocks away.

Mid-range

  • 2 Comfort Inn, 106 Bair Blvd., +1 724 755-2400. Check-in: 2PM, check-out: 11AM. Perfectly average and unremarkable two-star roadside chain hotel with all the standard amenities: business center, gym, heated indoor pool, free WiFi propertywide; mini-fridges and microwaves in each room; free hot breakfast in the morning is nothing fancy but gets the job done. Rooms are on the small side, bathrooms even smaller. Service from the desk staff is well-meaning but often incompetent: if there's a problem with your room, don't expect much in the way of help. Undergoing extensive renovations as of February 2020. $115-125/nt.
  • Fairfield Inn & Suites Pittsburgh New Stanton, 107 Bair Blvd., +1 724 755-0800, fax: +1 724 755-0828.
