There is more than one place called Badlands. All are in western parts of the USA or Canada, all are named for their strange eroded rock formations, and most are well-provided with fossils.

Canada

• Alberta Badlands (sometimes the Canadian Badlands) — part of Southern Alberta and includes the towns of Drumheller, Medicine Hat and Brooks and the provincial park of Dinosaur Provincial Park.

United States of America

• Badlands — a region that includes parts of South Dakota and North Dakota.
