Guanajay is a town and municipality in Havana Province in Western Cuba, about 58 km southwest of Cuba's capital Havana.

Founded in the 17th century on the banks of the Capellanía river, Guanajay was a weather station for troops who arrived from Spain until it turned into a health resort. Historically an ancient pueblo, it has had economic distribution for sugarcane and tobacco.
