Kwoi is the Jaba local government area headquarters and its biggest town. The famous village of Nok is located due north of the town, while Kafanchan, the largest town in Southern Kaduna, is located northeast of the town.

The official name of the town comes from the Hausa corruption of original name the natives call their town, Kwain or Haar Kwain.

The palace of the traditional ruler of the Ham or the Kpop Ham is located within the town.

If one chooses the shorter road, however, one uses same means as above to go to the garage in Bwari where one gets a vehicle going to Kwoi.
