Understand
The historic roads Varkaantie and Huovintie cross in Oripää. The milieus around the church and the two roads constitute nationally significant built landscapes. Varkaantie is the base for the tourist route Aurajoentie.
Get in
The route to Oripää runs along the Road 41 between Aura and Huittinen, which was once part of the Highway 9 between Turku and Tampere.
Aurajoentie follows the right (west) bank of Aurajoki, starting from Raunistula in Turku, first along Virusmäentie, then Vanha Tampereentie, passing Saint Mary's Church and Lieto as, changes names to Turuntie, passes Aura church, Aura as, Riihikoski and Pöytyä church, and ends up in Oripää, where it joins Huovintie north of the church. Huovintie connects Aura on Hämeen Härkätie with Ulvila and Pori. The leg from Köyliö to Oripää is part of Saint Henry's Way, which continues to Nousiainen.
By bus
A bus of TLO (Turku Bus Operators Ltd) from Turku goes to Oripää three times a day on weekdays, once a day on holidays and Saturdays. For timetables of this and other connections, see Matkahuolto.
