Brzeg[dead link] is a medieval town in Opole Voivodeship, Poland located halfway between Wrocław and Opole. It was founded in the middle of 13th century.

By train
From the 1 Brzeg Train Station (address: plac Dworcowy) there are connections to Opole. The train ride to Opole takes approx. 25 minutes costing 13 zł. When coming from Wrocław Brzeg is 30 minutes away and train tickets cost 12 to 15 zł, depending on the operator of the train.

- 1 The Castle of the Silesian Piasts, Plac Zamkowy. Also called the 'Silesian Wawel', this castle a 20th-century reconstruction of Renaissance castle. Some remaining original elements are considered to be one of the most magnificent Renaissance monuments in Poland. Inside the castle houses the Museum of the Silesian Piasts.
- 2 Town Hall (Ratusz), Rynek 11. Renaissance building from 1570s. It is one of the most valuable monuments of Renaissance architecture in Poland. The town hall is the seat of the municipal authorities of Brzeg and several other institutions.
- 3 St Jadwiga's Castle Church.
- 4 St Nicholas’ Church (Kościół św. Mikołaja).
- 5 The Raising of the Holy Cross Church (Kościół Podwyższenia Krzyża Świętego), Pańska 1. The church was built in the 1730s and the towers in the 1850s. The Roman-Catholic church was built for the Jesuits who came to the city in 1677 on the site of the Dominican monastery complex, which had been destroyed in 1545.
- 6 Oder Gate (Brama Odrzańska). A gate in the fortification system of the city of Brzeg. Built according to the late Renaissance design by Italian architects Bernard and Peter Niuron in 1595. It was originally located at the bastion defending the Brest Castle from the Oder River. It is the last architectural remnant of the Brest Fortress. The gate was moved 250 m further from its original location in 1895 (along with the liquidation of the bastion) to the castle garden in the present Nadodrzański Park.
