Hatra is a ruin in Northwestern Iraq. It has suffered damage at the hands of ISIS, though most of the buildings are reportedly still intact.

The city is 290 km northwest of Baghdad, and 110 km southwest of Mosul.

At the time of the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq there was one inn, the Al Hadr Hotel, about 1 km (0.62 mi) from the Hatra ruins. Much has happened since then. Due to Hatra's isolated location, do not assume lodging to be available – the next city of any size may well be more than a hundred kilometres/miles away.
