Travel Warning WARNING: Since November 2023, the Houthi movement (also known as Ansar Allah) made several weapon attacks against commercial vessels drive in Red Sea, and hijacked the NYK's Galaxy Leader, many shipping companies are re-routing their vessels due to instability of Red Sea lines; avoid visiting any coastal regions of Red Sea unless necessary.

The Red Sea is a body of water between Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. Geologically, it is a northern continuation of Africa's Great Rift Valley.

Islands dot the Red Sea coasts of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Eritrea and Yemen.
