Kaura Namoda is a town in Zamfara State on the Gagere River (a tributary of the Rima).

Kaura Namoda was founded in 1807 by Muhammadu Namoda who was a prince of Alibawa ruling family of Zurmi and an 18th-century military genius. It is the host for Federal Polytechnic, Kaura-Namoda, Zamfara State. Kaura-Namoda has an estimated population of 393,000 and occupy an area of 911.7 km².
Agriculture is an important aspect of the economy of Kaura Namoda with a variety of crops grown in the area while a number of domestic animals are reared and sold in the area. Other important economic activities undertaken by the people of Kaura Namoda include trade, pottery, and crafts making. Over 80 percent of the people engaged in various forms of agriculture. Major agricultural products include millet, guinea corn, maize, rice, groundnut, cotton, tobacco and beans.
It has an average temperature of 34 °C. The average humidity level in Kaura Namoda is 19 percent while the wind speed in the area is at an average of 8 km/h.
Majority of inhabitants of Kaura Namoda are Hausa and Fulani ethnic groups. The Hausa and the Fufulde languages are commonly spoken in the area while Islam is widely practised by a majority of the inhabitants.

- Kwatarkwashi mountain is located in Kwatarkwashi, Zamfara State. The mountain is named after the town of Kwatarkwashi. The mountain is one of the most longest mountains in West Africa. It so magnificent that it should be profiled in world record or list of heritage sites because of its height, length and the beautiful natural views surrounding it. Water spring from this mountain has remained clean since its existence and it has never dried up flows from the mountain. There are so many caves in the mountain and this offers protection and a hide out to hundreds of people during battles/trouble time during the olden days. It is also important to note that people are not allowed to enter the caves anymore because of its unknown depth and for caution for the kind of wild animals and reptiles that might be there.
- Namoda's Tomb, Kauran Namoda is located in Kauran Namoda Local Government, Zamfara State. It is the tomb of Alibawa warrior who was appointed Sarkin Yaki of the eastern campaigns of the Sokoto Jihad. After earning a name for himself during the Jihad, he moved southwards and established his new base on the banks of River Gagare calling the town Kauran Namoda. He was killed by the forces of Kiyawa in 1802 and his tomb is now a place of visit by thousands of people yearly.
