[edit]Belmont's most prominent sight is the Gothic architecture of Belmont Abbey College. It is viewable from NC-74, and worth a brief side trip.
Another popular attraction while in town is Belmont's historic town center which features a few restaurants and shops centered around historic 19th century buildings.
There is a 1950s-style drive-in movie theater on the outskirts of town. This attraction is both extremely cheap and fun, especially as a family or date activity.

[edit]- The Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden is located in Belmont. This large outdoor garden attracts tourists from around the region, and is especially attractive during the springtime.
- The U.S. National Whitewater Center is an outdoor recreational park featuring whitewater rafting, kayaking, mountain-biking and zip-lining located just across the Catawba River along Interstate 85 in Mecklenburg County, NC.
