There is an airport at Karippur (3 km) and a railway station at Feroke. Buses are easily available from Kozhikode, Malappuram and Manjeri.

Otta Ada is a special variety of rice preparation made in earthen vessels, originated in Kondotty area.

• Ottayada. Ottayada or Ottaada is a very common rice preparation of Kondotty people. But it is not easy to get one as they are not sold in restaurants. You have to search for them in small tea shops or ask a local friend to cook it for you. The new generation housewife cannot make it because Ottada requires special earthen vessels to cook in.
