Maumee is a city in Ohio Erie shore west, and a suburb of Toledo, Ohio.

Maumee was established as a frontier trading post to deliver goods shipped from Lake Erie to west bound communities. Due to this, Maumee has a rich history.

By car[edit]

The Ohio Turnpike has an exit in Maumee, going west to Indiana, and east to Cleveland and Pennsylvania.

I475/US23 runs along the western border of Maumee.

US 24/Anthony Wayne Trail passes through Maumee.

  • 2 Fallen Timbers Battlefield and Fort Miamis. The site of the decisive battle which ended the Northwest Indian War in 1794. After the War of 1812, the British Fort Miamis was abandoned and destroyed, though earthworks from the fort still exist.
