What does (+427) mean?[edit]

The number contained within parenthesis indicates the number of bytes that were added to or deleted from an article. As an example if you see (-5627) this would be a good indicator that a lot of information has been removed from a page and is likely vandalism. -- (WT-en) Sapphire 23:24, 21 February 2007 (EST)

Recent changes patrol[edit]

Can we remove the note about recent changes patrol from this message? At this point all admins should be familiar with this feature, so it should no longer be necessary, and removing it will unclutter Special:Recentchanges somewhat. -- (WT-en) Ryan 14:18, 4 March 2007 (EST)

Remove defunct languages[edit]

The recent changes text still has interwiki links to old language versions that did not migrate to the WMF. Please remove:

Changes to include more useful links[edit]

Inspired by w:Special:Recentchanges I plunged forward and updated the recent changes page header to include a few more links that may be useful both to old and new patrollers ([1]). In the past there has been pushback anytime a change is made that makes us more like Wikipedia, so if anyone has reservations about this change please revert and let's discuss. -- Ryan • (talk) • 04:07, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I just added Category:Articles needing attention in order to make it more prominent - there are lots of tasks needing to be done, and that category is a catch-all for many of them.
