Skiatook is a city of 8,450 people (2019) in the Green Country region of Oklahoma.

Understand[edit]

The word is Cherokee in origin, and means "Big-Indian-Me" or refers to something of large size. An Osage trader, Skiatooka is also cited as influencing the town's name.

Skiatook is in the northeastern part of the state, approximately 20 miles north and west of Tulsa.
