Safest boroughs

There are 5 boroughs in New York City. What number is the Bronx in in terms of reported crimes per x-number of people, or some other useful metric? I don't think "one of the safest boroughs" is a useful phrase when there are 5, and it could mean 5th-safest or be based on a misleading metric, like absolute number of crimes being higher in boroughs with higher population.
