Garfield Mounument Removal

[edit]

Hello

Recently my changes to add the Garfield Monument as a listing and as the pagebanner were reverted by User:EurekaLott (Clever name). I think they have a valid reason for their revert, but I also think that my edit served the traveler better, so I'm conflicted.

My rationale for adding the Garfield Monument to Cleveland Heights.

  • It is proportionally one of the most important items in the Cleveland Heights area, even if it is technically not within the city borders by a few meters. In the article for East Cleveland, it is and should be just another listing/footnote among a number of other notable attractions. (Garfield isn't one of the better known presidents like Washington, Lincoln, etc.)
  • If you look at a map of Cleveland Heights, the border goes through the cemetery, and in fact through a small portion of the monument itself. A traveler visiting Cleveland Heights would probably want to know about it.
  • The monument interior makes for a striking pagebanner. However I admit that there could be better options.
The banner

However I acknowledge that legally speaking, the monument is in Cleveland proper, and perhaps it has no place here as a result.

Perhaps a good compromise would be placing the listing in the Go Next section, and selecting a new page banner?

I'm sorry If I was incorrect to add this here. Mbrickn (talk) 18:58, 8 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

That solution works for me. Thanks for being flexible. File:Lee Road retail.jpg, File:P1010715 - Temple on the Heights.JPG, or File:St Paul Episcopal Church Tucker Hall - Euclid Golf Allotment - Cleveland Heights Ohio.jpg might work well as a source of a replacement banner image. - EurekaLott (talk) 19:49, 8 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
