Can this be upgraded to "usable" yet? Hobbitschuster (talk) 09:28, 19 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

I think so, the only section that has much scope for expansion is See. AlasdairW (talk) 11:13, 21 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Baggage limit

[edit]

Is the limit of checked bags two 32 kg bags or two bags with a combined weight of 32 kg? What if for some crazy reason you need more? Hobbitschuster (talk) 08:36, 21 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

It is two bags each weighing 32kg on Interislander or each weighing 30kg on Bluebridge. Extra bags cost $5 or $10 depending on company, but I would recommend phoning to check. AlasdairW (talk) 11:21, 21 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the clarification. Hobbitschuster (talk) 11:41, 21 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Passenger numbers

[edit]

How many passengers are typically carried in a "normal" year and do the numbers have a growing or shrinking trend outside recent special circumstances? Hobbitschuster (talk) 11:40, 4 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

From the Interislander figures in Kiwirail's annual reports, the 2019 report gives 825,000 passengers and 260,000 cars. The 2013 report gives 749,000 passengers and 217,000 cars. I don't know the figures for Bluebridge, but my experience of the relative size of the passenger terminals suggests that they might carry around a quarter of the number of passengers of Interislander, but may have a bigger percentage of the total freight market.
