Earlier discussion[edit]

I remember us having had quite some discussion on this topic, especially when a similar page was created previously, see Talk:Trouble with authorities.

The history of this article being based on a section in Tanzania still shows: some of the advice and descriptions may not work globally. I suppose some of the criticism of the deleted article also applies. We have advice for dealing with police or "police" also in Stay safe#Law and authorities and in Scams#Fake cops. That advice should be considered when giving advice here – they should not contradict.

Earlier version of the aforementioned article. /Yvwv (talk) 11:56, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Much of the discussion pertained to the article at that point, but there was also discussions on the more fundamental aspects, especially on how to find any globally relevant advice, or even advice that isn't misleading on a large part of the globe. I think there was a consensus that such an article would be good to have, if we only succeeded in writing it well, but there was significant doubt on that part. –LPfi (talk) 15:06, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
As a rule of thumb, topics under concerns and stay safe deserve an article on their own, when non-trivial advice can be applied to more than one specific country. /Yvwv (talk) 15:42, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
