Hierarchy breakdown

[edit]

Since gauteng is fast growing into one megacity it gets rather hard to break it up into pieces. The official District Municipalities map (rather than Local Municipalities) seems to be quite usable except for the border between Johannesburg and Ekurhuleni. A traveler will probably experience the western side of Ekurhuleni (Kempton Park, Benoni, Boksburg and Alberton) as part of Johannesburg. I'm going to break up the province according to the official districts for now, it that does no work we can later include the west of Ekurhuleni into Johannesburg and rename Ekurhuleni to something like Far East Rand. Any feedback on this will be welcome --(WT-en) NJR_ZA 14:38, 8 October 2007 (EDT)

Misinformation

[edit]
  • The January 2008 Issue of the free tourist booklet Go Gauteng states: ...spend a day at the Boulders Shopping Centre - You'll need that long to see everything.... This is incorrect, Boulders is small compared to most other Gauteng malls and does not really cater for the tourist/traveller. --(WT-en) Nick 07:54, 20 January 2008 (EST)
