Length of listings, need for directions[edit]

This does have a kind of itinerary map, but it doesn't really feel like an itinerary article to me (and I'm unsure it's usable) because the listings are extremely long and detailed, but there are no directions from one point of interest to the next. Giacomob (mimap), I appreciate all the work you've done on this article, but I'd suggest that your work is not yet done and some edits are needed to the format and style of this article. Every itinerary is different from every other one, and there is a lot of room for customization of the WV:Itinerary article template, but perhaps some of the star-rated itinerary articles on this site such as Yaowarat and Phahurat Tour, Loop Art Tour and Along the Magnificent Mile, or guide-rated itinerary articles like A seaside stroll in Helsinki, Anne Beadell Highway, Archipelago Trail, Dalton Highway, El Camino Real or various others listed in Category:Guide articles might give you some ideas. I'd suggest adding clear information about how to get from each place to the next at the end of each entry and really editing down each description to focus on the most interesting content, while offering a fuller listing in the articles for the relevant cities.

All the best,

Dear Ikan Kekek,
many thanks for your precious feedback. Giacomob (mimap) and I are working on a project in collaboration with Wikimedia Italia, Commons Italia and Icom Italy (please, find the project in Italian here: MIMAP Open Access. And we thought that this itinerary (created in Italian and translated into English) and the different places to visit and people to meet might be interesting for people from abroad who might enjoy the experiences of theatrical shows and meetings, visits to theatres, workshops and museums etc. related to the Opera dei pupi, that is Sicilian puppet theatre, inscribed in the UNESCO List of the Oral and Intangible Heritage oh Humanity. Of course, this can be probably considered as a first step that can open the doors of this itinerary to a wider audience. As far as the directions are concerned, when we were working on the itinerary concept, we've been obliged to consider some varying elements that characterize tourism in our island: e.g where does the tourist arrive (does he fly to Palermo or to Catania or to Trapani?; or does s/he travel by ship to Palermo, Messina, etc.)?; does s/he rent a car or a bike or a motorcycle or does he take only public transport? What are his/her points of interest beyond the Opera dei pupi (the coast and the sea, or cultural places, or both, only western Sicily or the entire island)? On the basis of the exstension of the itinerary and of these important varying elements, we agreed to list the different stops and provide some genral but detailed infos about the different means of transport thus giving the tourist the opoportunity to choose where to start and what to visit on the basis of his/her tourist plan. All information about the transport should be clear enought to move from one stop to another one. Notwithstanding, we appreciate a lot your point of view and of course we can gradually improve the itinerary.
As far as the listing template is concerned, we agree that it is better to customize it and we are surely going to use the listing template. We will probably need some days but we will do it absolutely. We will also try to cut some text in order to make it easier to read. Thank you very much for your kind suggestions. We will do our best. Many thanks again. All the best Monica C. (mimap) (talk) 10:47, 20 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
You're very welcome, and I and other users here will be happy to help with editing. The "Get in" section is good. The kinds of directions I'm suggesting are on the order of "when you leave X, turn right and walk y blocks on [name of street], then turn left onto [name of other street] and you will see A on your right three doors down," or if driving, rather than walking is needed: "Turn onto [name of road] and drive 3 km until you get to [name of piazza]. Take the third right at the roundabout and travel another 2 km until you see [name of building] on your right. Alternatively, you can take Bus 13 from the stop right in front of [name of building] to [name of stop], transfer for Bus 19 and alight at [name of stop]."
