Eat[edit]

I moved the following listings here from the article page. Region "Eat" sections are supposed to give an overview. Listings like these belong in city/town articles. (WT-en) OldPine 10:08, 29 June 2007 (EDT)

Regions[edit]

I was just about to start work on a Wikivoyage-style regions map for the state, when I noticed that the official tourism site [1] has a fantastic, really cool travel regions breakdown, which is far more informative than our boring directional regions scheme. Any objections to switching to their version? --(WT-en) Peter Talk 04:29, 9 November 2009 (EST)

I know nothing of Kentucky, but I'm all in favor of using official tourism department definitions when they don't suck (see New York (state). That said, however, I'm little suspicious of some of those names. If a visitor comes by and asks a Kentuckian "how do I get to Dan'l Boone Country?" will said Kentuckian have any idea what is meant? True, a few of them would work better as descriptions than names. I'll see what I can come up with. But the Daniel Boone Country name is actually pretty recognizable—a good portion of that region is taken up by Daniel Boone National Forest. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 10:59, 9 November 2009 (EST)
Well, shows how much I know. =) "Caves, Lakes, and Corvettes", then? (WT-en) LtPowers 12:46, 9 November 2009 (EST)
Here are my suggested names, for the same regions as shown on the site:

That reorganization took a lot longer than I expected, but it is done, and I think it was quite worthwile. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 12:46, 19 November 2009 (EST)
I have disambiguated Southern Lakes (Kentucky) to distinguish it from a geographic region of the same name in New Zealand. (WT-en) Huttite 07:07, 20 November 2009 (EST)
On the live page, the Western Coal Fields Section does not appear.Schwaltz (talk) 02:01, 26 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
