Hello Can anybody tell me how far it is from the train station in Konya to the bus station & how to get there Please??? Thanks Kimbo (WT-en) Kimbo 07:02, 19 July 2011 (EDT)

It's been more than three years since I was last in Konya, so I can't remember clearly but walking from the train station to Alaattin Square/Park (which I exactly did) was about 30 minutes. From Alaattin Square, you can take the tram right to the bus station, which should take something like another 30 min (don't walk to the bus station—it's way out of city centre). To be honest, I've never liked the current banner, 0, which presumably shows a residential suburb; I guess the area has little relevance to the average visitor to the city, and think it doesn't look very pretty, especially in that crop.

So I have two proposals, both Rumi/Sufism-related. That may come across as somewhat stereotypical, but that is the primary attraction of the city.

Banner 1 is a nighttime view of domes and arches as seen from the square in front of (or from the outer yard of) Mevlana Museum/Rumi's mausoleum, with the iconic green dome in the middle.

Banner 2 shows Sufi dervishes whirling during a Sema ritual. Granted, there are a lot of people in the image, but I don't think any of the faces is easily recognizable and they seem to be in a public venue.

My preferences are for 1, then 2, and both are much more interesting than 0, which doesn't suck but clearly is not the best we can do. Thanks for the banners! Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:21, 8 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
Changed to 1. Thanks for voicing an opinion. Vidimian (talk) 22:49, 23 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
