Krabi town vs province
[edit]I'm wondering if Krabi (province) should be moved to Krabi and the town into Krabi Town, to match the layout for Phuket/Phuket Town — most people associate "Krabi" with the entire region and places like Ao Nang, not Krabi town. (WT-en) Jpatokal 01:45, 21 Dec 2005 (EST)
- I think the priority should be to make it as easy as possible for people (especially those with limited wikivoyage experience) to make a contribution. Stick with what is most simple and most logical (ie province = Name_(province) / city = Name for all province/city names except Bangkok and Phuket) and include a link at the top of each article to the other article (as is already the case here). Only Bangkok and Phuket warrant exceptions (the latter because Phuket is also an island, yet always referred to as simply "Phuket", never Ko Phuket). —The preceding comment was added by 202.47.247.140 (talk • contribs)
- Consider the user who types "Krabi" into the search box — are they looking for the famous place with gorgeous beaches, limestone cliffs and diving, or are they looking for the rather dull administrative town? To me this seems exactly the same logic as for Phuket, where the area as a whole is much better known than the town. (Bangkok is a different case, as there Bangkok the city and Bangkok the province are identical.) (WT-en) Jpatokal 06:59, 21 Dec 2005 (EST)
- They could be looking for either; the majority will probably end up looking at both no matter which one they view first, as for most people the most relevant information is split between the two, and each one is easily accessed from the other. Better to stick with province = Name_(province) / city = Name -- it's not detrimental to reader-users, and it makes much more sense for contributor-users. —The preceding comment was added by 203.147.0.48 (talk • contribs)
- I have to agree with Jpatokal here. In *every* tourist guide, "Krabi" is meant as the beaches in Krabi Province (Ao Nang, Rai Leh, etc), not the actual Krabi Town. --(WT-en) globe-trotter 21:32, 27 November 2010 (EST)
- The confusion has led to a large amount of Ao Nang listings in this article. I'll try to sort them out, now that the name is more clear. --(WT-en) Globe-trotter 23:13, 13 November 2011 (EST)

Although the apparent purpose of listing this in the Get in by plane section is to offer a way to get discounted taxi vouchers (online only), the site itself is of the "other guide" variety that we would usually delete otherwise. Any opinions on this one? (WT-en) Texugo 04:07, 18 June 2007 (EDT)
Krabi airport tax
[edit]I flew from Krabi to KL last week and only paid Bt400 departure tax. —The preceding comment was added by (WT-en) Greenmango (talk • contribs)
Guide recommendations
[edit]I'm just back from Krabi. Had a very good guide - reliable, reasonable discounts, got what we paid for. Is it appropriate to put a recommendation and his contact info here? —The preceding comment was added by 218.18.75.126 (talk • contribs)
- Nope, tour guides and tour agencies for that matter are beyond the scope of Wikivoyage per Project:Activity listings#Tour listings. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 16:35, 1 June 2009 (EDT)
Grammar
[edit]OK, this is a somewhat silly basis for an edit war, but I don't tolerate comma splices gladly. Please compare these two versions:
To get to and from Ao Nang, in the centre of town on Maharaj Rd (main road) near the traffic lights where male statues hold them up (you will know once you see this) is a Vogue shopping complex.
The parenthetical phrase makes the syntax a bit clunky, perhaps, but it parses. It could be polished a bit, if someone really wanted to spend time on it.

I find this a run-on sentence with two comma splices and, therefore, intolerable. I wouldn't focus on a matter of grammar or syntax except that there is an IP user that is edit warring about this, and I am simply unwilling to accept this kind of editing. Ikan Kekek (talk) 11:58, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
New banner
[edit]I've uploaded a panoramic view to the white temple of Krabi: Krabi - Wat Kaeo Korawaram - 0015-Pano WVBanner.jpg. Feel free to use it, if wanted. I've added it to Wikidata. Just switch the ranking. -- DerFussi 10:24, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
