I moved this article from Kuwait (City) [sic] based solely on my personal experience. I've never heard of Kuwait City called "Kuwait", and the Getty Thesaurus gives "Kuwait City" as the preferred English name. --(WT-en) Evan 16:00, 10 April 2006 (EDT)

Work[edit]
Do we have anyone here who has teached or worked in Kuwait? I suspect the truth likes somewhere in between, so I have removed he following from the article:
The children are so badly behaved that almost anybody can get a job "teaching" here in a private school. Employees do not need to have teaching certification and in some cases a university degree is not even required. They just need warm bodies in the classrooms to keep the kids from killing each other while the school collects the exorbitant tuition fees. Most of the parents really don't care if the children are educated as long as the report cards display top marks - and they will, whether the teacher marks them or someone else overrules.
Regardless of the type of work a person does, there are multiple pay schedules based on point of origin of the worker. Two people doing exactly the same quality work in exactly the same position with exactly the same title will receive two very different salaries if they are from different parts of the world.
This is the comments from one who has no idea about the Educational System in Kuwait, ALL teachers are interviewed and tested by the Ministry of Private Education, all Teachers must have a B.A. degree in the subject that they will be teaching. ALL teachers must get a written approval by the Ministry of Private Education. There was no edit summary for this edit. It's clear that most of it was to update the article, improve the grammar and such, remove unnecessary words and substitute British spellings (which probably makes sense, given Kuwait's history, though I really don't care either way). But is this deleted paragraph (still) true?
Apart from the Bangladeshi working communities, who do all the low-end jobs in Kuwait, very few others use the public transport. Buses are mainly male, with many of the travellers listening to music without headphones on their mobile phones. The buses can also be filthy as many sit and eat sunflower seed and scatter the shells all over the floor.
Maybe it was never a really accurate picture (and I certainly wouldn't know, because I've never been to Kuwait), but it seems clear that that was someone's experience, so it would be good to address this deletion on the record.
