- Based on the contents of the nomination, deletion looks very likely. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:38, 21 June 2019 (UTC)
- I think it is based on a misunderstanding. The uploader has been lazy about stating details and the current Commons' guidelines would require an OTRS letter, but that system was probably not developed and at least not well documented at time of upload. There is no reason to doubt the uploader has consent of the photographers, but it may be difficult to get that documented. --LPfi (talk) 08:53, 21 June 2019 (UTC)
- (Hm. The images are more resent than I remembered, so the policy might have been in place. Whether the OTRS process is well enough documented for a casual uploader is a separate question though, --LPfi (talk) 08:56, 21 June 2019 (UTC))
- They got deleted: "if they did buy the rights, they will be able to provide the documentation to OTRS." I think it is very bad form to delete and just hope them to notice and send OTRS letters. I did send an e-mail, but I'd not trust a stranger to read their e-mail weekly (they might not have used their main address for Commons). --LPfi (talk) 21:06, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
- It got deleted. The admin thought it is too common for businesses to claim rights more broadly than what they have negotiated with the photographer. I have not got an answer to my e-mail, perhaps they used a through-away account. --LPfi (talk) 16:05, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

- Duplicate of the above, the nomination was for all of the user's images. --LPfi (talk) 21:07, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
Snowmobile map
[edit]Ikan Kekek asked for a snowmobile route/track map. I added a link to the Metsähallitus maps in Finnish Lapland#By snowmobile, but it is not ideal as it concentrates on tracks for which the Metsähallitus permit is valid. In the surroundings of Levi there are few Metsähallitus tracks, but a dense "snowmobile route" network, and possibly tracks maintained by tourist businesses. The routes can be chosen as a layer on the Metsähallitus Excursionmap.fi maps (here I linked to the national park west of Levi; scroll and choose the right layers). If the routes are on OSM, adding that layer on a Levi map would probably be ideal. --LPfi (talk) 16:16, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks. I think whatever we can do on this would really help any visitor who wants to travel by snowmobile. Ikan Kekek (talk) 16:36, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
- As you can see on the linked map, the route and track network is really extensive (although not dense everywhere), so it should probably be solved in some general way. For Levi, I suppose you can get some directions from those who rent the vehicles, but there ought to be some official maps on the "route" network, which is the most relevant here. The communications agency? I found nothing official, but for Levi a page with routes of different kinds, including current state of the snowmobile routes, and for all the country a site using OSM information. The latter is only in Finnish (I suppose), so I had to add quite some text in the Lapland page. I am not entirely satisfied with the solution. --LPfi (talk) 19:21, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
