Cafe Lika closed?[edit]

I can't find a listing for Cafe Lika in either the Yellow Pages (superpages.com) or menupages.com. Can someone please find out if it has closed and if so, delete the listing accordingly?

[edit]

That banner is of a scene that's too far downtown. The Brooklyn Bridge is not on the Lower East Side. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:42, 2 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Your banner captures a lot of the feel of the neighborhood. Ikan Kekek (talk) 13:52, 2 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

To Guide[edit]

I think the main thing preventing this from being a Guide now is the lack of info in "Connect," though a neighborhood with this large a bar scene really should have more bar listings. Ikan Kekek (talk)

Eastern Boundary of Chinatown[edit]

Please see the discussion at Talk:Manhattan/Chinatown#Eastern Boundary of Chinatown. It's relevant to this article because if my proposal is accepted, it would take a bite out of the southwestern part of the Lower East Side and give it to Chinatown. Bar listings for Manhattan/Lower East Side[edit]

Swept in from the pub

Hi, everyone. I don't know if this is really a request for comment, so I wasn't sure about putting anything up on Requests for comment but thought I'd post here to urge anyone who knows more about bars on the Lower East Side of Manhattan to post listings in Manhattan/Lower East Side#Drink. I posted a couple, but I'm really not the demographic most bars south of Houston are now catering to - a loud, young (20s) crowd (and I mean crowd) of out-of-towners. But they come here in droves, and since that's now mostly what the Lower East Side is about, we need to put in a bunch more bar and also restaurant listings. So if any of you liked anyplace, please help. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:51, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Just a quick note to myself to add Wassail, the cider bar, and that bar with a lot of good beers on tap and even more for sale from their refrigerators. But for everyone else: Please add your favorite bar, even if older people like me would consider it, to use local parlance, "douchey". I never go to Piano's anymore, for instance, but (and because) they're super-popular with the young set. Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:24, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Max Fish should also be listed. Someone should list Piano's, because there is always a slew of young people lined up outside, but it won't be me. There's also that good brewpub on Orchard or Ludlow. I need to find the name. Ikan Kekek (talk) 11:29, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

More restaurants[edit]

The restaurant listings are pitiful. Meatball Shop should have been added a long time ago. There's also a very good little Sri Lankan place; I'll check the name. And how in the world did I not list Cafe Katja already? Ikan Kekek (talk) 11:27, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Masalawala should be added - it's great! Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:08, 10 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Russ & Daughter's should be added to "Buy" and their restaurant should be added. I never go to either because they're expensive, but they're well-known and among the few remaining Jewish "appetizing" stores in Manhattan. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:26, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Why two maps?[edit]

Redundant and a poor use of space. No? Ikan Kekek (talk) 04:16, 30 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, I'd keep the static map, to which edits could be suggested. It's simply a better, clearer map. Ikan Kekek (talk) 04:17, 30 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
