Talk:Masuria

While I agree that we might need to subdivide Warmińsko-Mazurskie into regions one day when the articles get filled with content, I believe that breaking out Mazury, which forms the larger half of the region is simply creating a superfluous subdivision level. Moreover, everything which is now in this article, or could possible be, would just as well fit into Warmia-Masuria. Unless somebody opposes, I shall effect the merge within a week. Or maybe rebuild it in another form -> w:Masurian Lake District --Alan ffm (talk) 00:59, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment - well, the Masurian Lake District covers the vast majority of Warmińsko-Mazurskie, so if we decide to keep this article (because whether we call it "Masuria" or "Masurian Lake District" it refers to roughly the same area), we are left with the same absurd situation of having to somehow describe the lesser part of the voivodship in a separate article, while touristically it really isn't separate. I am from Warsaw, and as you would guess for me going to Mikołajki, Ostróda, Miłomłyn or Giżycko is "going to Mazury", regardless of whether I somehow know one is Warmia and the other is Mazury. The German and Dutch tourists I know also treat it as a whole, even those with roots in the region who should know a lot about its history and historic/geographic boundaries. I see no point in splitting this. PrinceGloria (talk) 05:35, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
