@STW932: Since you seem pretty well-travelled in China, do you by any chance have any photos we could use to make a suitable banner for this article? Pinging SHB2000 as well since he's usually the one who makes the banners for us. The dog2 (talk) 18:18, 13 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

I'll get back to you after a few days. I'm currently travelling. STW932 (talk) 07:29, 14 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi all. I'm back from my trip and I can confirm that I have a few photos that might be suitable. The photos I'm referring to were taken in Hainan's Betel Nut Valley (Binglanggu) in February last year. I'll try to upload them to Wikimedia Commons on the weekend. I've finished uploading my photos of Binglanggu (see here). However, I'm not sure which photo would be the best one for the banner. What do you guys think? My first thought was that we could use this photo of the old granaries in Ganza Village (a traditional Li village that was incorporated into the park): https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Binglanggu_25.jpg But I'm afraid that would look a bit dull. I think the photo of the entrance plaze might be a good one too, but let's see what others say too. @SHB2000: What do you think with regard to these images? The dog2 (talk) 19:35, 17 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
@The dog2: Your suggestion is photo 09, but cropping that one to 7:1 does not show a nice view of the entrance building; photo 08 is made from a bigger distance and would show more of that building. Cropping it with the bottom of the banner just above the heads of the people gives a nice result. Photo 16 rotated 1° and having the Chinese text as top of the banner is also a nice banner with an entrance as subject. Photo 26, again an entrance photo has a nice crop when the big stone at the right side is totally part of the crop, and you see the top parts of the frogs. --FredTC (talk) 05:51, 21 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Photo 8 could work too. I was thinking more of the canopy above the entrance building, since it is of a very distinctive design. But yeah, the other photos you mention are possibilities to, though photo 26 is a little blurry. I think photo 11 might work too with the mural in it.
