Copy editing and updating needed

[edit]

I loved my trip to Prambanan (in 1976, so not too recently!) and would be happy to nominate this article for Destination of the Month, but passages like this need much clearer explanation:

The three main temples are called Trimurti temples. Right in front of these three mai temples lies three Vahana temples, three temples in front of Trimurti temples dedicated to the vahana of each god: Nandi, Garuda, and Hamsa.

What is mai and what is vahana?

Also, the phrasing of this note makes it seem like the article hasn't been really updated in 5 years:

In the wake of the May 2006 Yogyakarta earthquake, some parts of Prambanan sustained significant damage. The site is open again, but some temples are cordoned off and as of the end of 2009 entry into several temples is not allowed, while major repair and restoration work is undertaken.

What's the current situation? Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:12, 5 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
