Sub-regions of Rajasthan

[edit]

There are approx 35 articles for cities in Rajasthan and there was (until yesterday) no real regional structure but only a few random regions establised. Therefore, I started working on a structure with seven sub regions corresponding to the administrative structure with seven divisions. I think this worked quite well (and certainly much better than the mess prior to these changes). So I do not understand why my changes have been reverted, it must be a mistake, and I plan to work on with the new structure, unless others have an idea of a better structure. Have made a new set of sub-regions of Rajasthan, complete with multicolored map. It is done by taking data from wikidata. However, there is a problem. The Udaypur division (shown in yellow) should contain the Chitogar District, but it is showing in white not yellow. Dear Ikan Kekek can you help or can you suggest someone who can help. --Rangan Datta Wiki (talk) 16:03, 11 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Issue of vandalism

[edit]

Almost all the listings in entire Rajasthan section of wikivoyage looks like poorly spelled billboards put up by respective business owners. Personally I want to put a big warning box on each article asking user not to trust anything listed but I am sure there is a better way to handle this. Ideas/Suggestions anyone? --(WT-en) anurag.thakur84 14:49, 3 April 2012 (EDT)

Page banner

[edit]

Rajasthan is known for Thar Desert (If I'm correct) and camel safari. --Saqib (talk) 16:34, 19 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yes, the article says the That Desert it is an important attraction. Both your banner and the one that is already there look quite good, so I'm neutral. ϒpsilon (talk) 16:59, 19 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
If you've not noticed but the same current banner also being used on Chittorgarh article. --Saqib (talk) 17:02, 19 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
OK, I didn't know that. We should avoid using the same banner on many articles, so go ahead and change it! ϒpsilon (talk) 17:05, 19 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Red-linked cities moved from "Cities" list

[edit]

These red-linked cities were out of alphabetical order at the end of the "Cities" section:

  • Sri ganganagar
  • Padampur
  • Jaitsar
  • Ahore "Havelli Heritage-Ahore", A heritage hotel by jagirdar family of Ahore
  • Jhunjhunu also known as City of Frescoes and Havelis. It has many Havelis that have beautifully frescoed interior and exteriors

Articles about any of these cities would be most welcome, but they should probably be left off the 9-city list in this state-level article. Ikan Kekek (talk) 05:54, 15 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Moved from "Go next"

[edit]

Not relevant to "Go next," but moved here in case anyone can glean something of value from it:

The State of Rajasthan apart from its heritage status is famous for its Wildlife Reserves and Religious pilgrimages. Some of the rare species of animals like Chinkara, Blackbuck, Great Indian Bustard and several migratory birds are found exclusively in Rajasthan. Sariska, Bharatpur Sanctuary, Desert National Park, Tal Chappar Sanctuary are one of the few places in Rajasthan where the rich and diverse Flora and fauna of Rajasthan can be viewed. Rajasthan also is a favorite destination for pilgrims belonging to Hindu, Jain and Muslim Religion. The Dilwara Jain temples, Pushkar temple and Ajmer Sharriff are all examples of Religious and Cultural diversity in Rajasthan. Rajasthan today is a perfect blend of its rich heritage as well as a modern State surging ahead keeping with changing times of Modern banking, Industrial, Technological development in the World. Rajasthan is a visual treat for its vibrant and colorful lifestyle, something that will keep the traveler rapt with attention an experience he will cherish for the lifetime.

Image State Map of 7 districts for consideration

[edit]
That's not "Wikivoyage-style," but it is good and I'd be fine with it. Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:19, 22 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Template marker anomaly

[edit]
  1. Accidently used description=Image and some relevant text as a parameter. Actually should have just used image=
    • The image pops up on map and descriptive text displays below image. This parameter passes through and is processed and added to the GeoJSON code. -- Will revert back later. -- Matroc (talk) 03:11, 27 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
