Talk:Sanya Phoenix International Airport
Add topicJustification and style
[edit]Not Wikivoyage-style, and User: Laoxinyi, please explain how this airport fulfills the criteria set out at Wikivoyage:Airport Expedition#Article criteria, which are:
1. Does the airport service connecting flights? Only airports large enough to service connecting flights should be considered for articles since travelers are unlikely to be spending significant time at airports that serve only as departure and final destination points.
2. Does the airport have enough food and shopping options to fill out an entire "Buy" and "Eat and Drink" section?
Most airports cannot get their own articles on this site. To be fair, per w:Sanya Phoenix International Airport, this airport served 16,629,950 passengers in 2021, quite a lot, but it's only the second busiest airport in Hainan and 20th-busiest in China. If we decide it does merit an article, it needs to be substantially rewritten and use a Wikivoyage:Airport article template (quick version suitable for copying and pasting here.) - I'm not sure about criteria 2 but I don't believe this airport satisfies criteria 1. STW932 (talk) 17:18, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
- So should we merge and redirect this article to Sanya#By plane? That section looks OK except that it's phrased like a "Get out" section (if we had one), rather than "Get in". If we do merge and redirect, what content from this article is essential to add? I'm thinking basic information about some forms of transportation, preferably with reference to a website and no exhaustive information about routes or captain obvious reminders from the Sanya Transportation Bureau.
