Talk:South Padre Island
Page banner
[edit]What about this one? Danapit (talk) 12:45, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
- What if we kept the current banner here and used this new one to replace the banner at Padre Island, which is a very generic picture of some waves that could have been taken almost anywhere? Texugo (talk) 12:48, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
- Right, it's just the existing banner has rather low resolution... We started the discussion elsewhere. Maybe I can dig out some other nice picture at flickr later. Danapit (talk) 12:56, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
Merging with Padre Island
[edit]I would like to address the same issue here as I did with the Padre Island National Seashore article. South Padre Island is a resort destination in its own right and should not be merged with the Padre Island article. Padre Island and SPI are separated from each other by the Mansfield Channel and there is no way to cross. These are two completely separate destinations, with SPI being its own city and resort area in the Rio Grande Valley, while Padre Island is a suburban district of Corpus Christi three hours north, with the PI National Seashore being connected to Padre Island (Corpus Christi). I have to say that I do not agree with the suggestion to merge the two areas. They are completely separate. Americannomad1776 (talk) 19:01, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you for your comments. I have taken the liberty of copying this over to Talk:Padre Island in order to have the discussion one place. Ground Zero (talk) 20:34, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
