Teotihuacan is not an Aztec archaeological site!

The opening sentence of this article is wrong.

Teotihuacan was originally settled around approximately 200 b.c.e and abandoned around 700 c.e., long before the Aztecs were a formal, unified people.

The Aztecs (also known as the Mexica) came across the abandoned site during their migration down into the Valley of Mexico, a migration that has been said to have lasted 200 years, ending with their founding of Tenochtitlan (modern day Mexico City) in 1325 c.e., and beginning what would go on to be known as the Aztec empire.

The Aztecs believed that Teotihuacan, due to its splendor and enormity, must have been a place where the gods had once dwelled, and thus gave it its name "Teotihuacan" - the place where men became gods (in Nahuatl, the Aztec language). The Aztecs were also known to have taken items and art from Teotihuacan as well as borrowing and adopting styles and motifs found at Teotihuacan into their own art.

Bus and Entrance Price Update[edit]

Hi guys, I visited the park in October 2015 and noticed the price for the bus and entrance fee has changed. The bus was 44 for a one way ticket and the entrance fee was 64. I have updated the page accordingly. --Justvagabonding (talk) 18:54, 12 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
