Talk:Toronto/North York

The article title is Toronto/North, yet the article says it is about either the Toronto/North York district or the separate city of North York that is part of greater Toronto. Given that the article is already talking about sub-districts, I am uncertain about whether this is a city within a city (district) article or something else that is not even part of our article templates. I do not know Toronto, so would be grateful for suggestions about this article and the places it refers to. -- (WT-en) Huttite 05:17, 20 Jun 2005 (EDT)

Korean and Iranian sections[edit]

Both of the Korean and Iranian sections are actually longer than what this article says: The Korean strip definitiely runs south of Churchill (at least as south as the Empress Walk mall and a bit further), and the Iranian section south of Finch (at least as south as Churchill and a bit further). Actually I don't know whether it is justified to speak of two sections; there seems to be just one large Korean/Iranian section that runs from around Sheppard to somewhere (that is quite far) north of Steeles.—(WT-en) Gniw 00:23, 14 July 2006 (EDT)

Yeah that's true, but these are zones where they sorta "peak", so maybe the sectionization is justified? 64.229.202.51 06:08, 10 August 2006 (EDT)

York University[edit]

I think the section on York University should be changed and scaled back because it sounds very much like an advertisement for the university. If anyone has any problems with it being changed, please say something.(WT-en) Acton 08:39, 8 August 2008 (EDT)

I definitely agree that it was over-the-top promotional before, but I'd argue that was a little too harsh. We try to avoid negative reviews, since they attract more edit-warring trouble than they are worth. I'd prefer a more neutral version, but if left alone, I'm sure it will eventually materialize. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 22:41, 8 August 2008 (EDT)

Weston[edit]

Weston is not in North York. "Weston was incorporated as a village in the 19th century and was absorbed into the Borough of York in the late 1960s. York itself was amalgamated into Toronto in 1998."

Weston has been moved to Toronto/Midtown, which is the district article the rest of the former borough of York is captured in. See the discussion at Talk:Toronto for further details. -Shaundd (talk) 05:15, 27 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

LISTINGS[edit]

While this article does have a lot of good content, it is sadly lacking in properly formatted listings, especially in the sleep section. Hobbitschuster (talk) 10:46, 29 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
