No eateries?[edit]

You've got to be kidding. Of all the best places to eat in Valdosta, 7 of them are chain restaurants?! (Sonny's, Red Lobster, Applebees', Hooter's, Cracker Barrel, IHOP, and Outback)

Either food in Valdosta really sucks, or no one's done much research on the city. --(WT-en) BigPeteB 14:25, 8 April 2011 (EDT)

Having lived in Valdosta for way longer than I would like, it's really more of the former. Tho in the past there were some good stand out independant locations, I really don't know how many are still around. I suppose next time I am up there (Late January) I can look around and see if I can add anything to this article. But Valdosta really tends to just be a sleep over city for folks travelling south on I-75 into Florida.

Listings[edit]

I've glad to see more content in this article. However, do others feel that chain restaurant listings and listings for chain supermarkets are important to include, or should some or all be deleted? I really don't think we want to recommend places like Applebee's to visitors. Instead, they're probably most likely to be interested in independent eateries that cook good down-home Southern food. Also, does Valdosta State University offer any short courses (~2 weeks or less) for non-matriculated students? If not, it can be mentioned but shouldn't be given a "Learn" section. If someone is going to remove chain restaurants from this article, then someone should write some kind of script to remove chain restaurants from all articles on WikiVoyage. I don't think we are "recommending" any of these restaurants, they do not come with a seal of approval or health scores. Valdosta State University has learning in retirement classes as well as other non-traditional classes. --Mjrmtg (talk) 12:37, 13 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It's too drastic to always prohibit chain restaurant listings, and it wouldn't be easy to write a script removing them all, in any case, but please read Wikivoyage:Boring. Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:06, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I've listified Valdosta State, but you still didn't answer whether they offer any courses that last around 2 weeks or less. Do they? Ikan Kekek (talk) 03:33, 17 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
