I have created a new template for soft redirects. They're used for creating redirects to other wikis when a normal redirect should not be used (example at: Wikivoyage:Copyleft). I didn't think this would be controversial, which is why I didn't discuss before creating, but does anyone disagree? –sumone10154^(talk) 19:55, 6 October 2012 (CEST)

When a normal redirect is used, it automatically redirects to the other wiki, which makes it hard to access the actual redirect page (for example on this page: User:Sumone10154/redirect). There's another explanation here on Wikipedia. –sumone10154^(talk) 05:08, 7 October 2012 (CEST)

I also think a soft-redirect is better in general, so users have to actively click on a link to go to the external site. Else it might be confusing. --Globe-trotter (talk) 05:26, 7 October 2012 (CEST)

Thanks for the clarification. I think WT used soft redirects in that situation automatically, so I hadn't realized they were implemented differently here; having that ability (and that template) makes a lot of sense. -- D. Guillaume (talk) 05:38, 7 October 2012 (CEST)
