Hi, you should see my name on the top. I am Polish national from Poznań who would like to contribute a little to these outdated guides about Poland.

I am looking for Polish collaborators, write me a message if you want to support Polish guides as it seems quite empty here.

Despite being Polish I don't contribute on Polish Wikivoyage. It is essentialy dead site with 3-4 contributors, most stuff remembers days of WikiTravel, ton of spam and advertisements and no sensible templates/procedures. My time is better spent here. While radical I believe that Polish Wikivoyage should be deleted entirely and created from scratch.

Kłodzko Land

[edit]

Section to help me coordinate work. This is something I want to tackle in next few months (I plan to finish by end of 2024, possibly October/November). Important place for tourism in Poland, ton of locations, mostly forgotten by this page. There is even one demanded page Lądek-Zdrój. I would like to use it as springboard to subdivide Lower Silesian Voivodeship region, which has lots of tourist locations that barely fit in current article.

1. Pages needing expansion

2. New pages to be built

3. Subdivide Lower Silesian Voivodeship into subregions. Create page for Kłodzko Land and populate it.

Recommend

[edit]
  • Tallinn and whole Estonia in general - cool vibe, not discovered by mass tourism, but why it has to be so cold here, brrr...
  • Malbork Castle - simply epic, it's at least as good as the entire city of Gdańsk
  • bars in Baarle-Nassau/Baarle-Hertog, really nice people there, unfortunately I couldn't spend much time here
  • hiking in Bieszczady, just take torch with you and plan in advance to return safely, if you stay until evening all the crowds will be back in valleys, leaving beautiful sunset and mountains just for you
  • cycle through Hel Peninsula and go to one of the very few empty beaches in Poland
  • dunes in Łeba
  • canoeing on Drawa, though some drunk, mindless Germans are quite scary

Avoid

[edit]
  • Ruhrgebiet, I didn't know that river can be ugly until I saw Rhine there, also I felt really safe after seeing the "Waffenverbotszone" signs everywhere, this is probably the stereotypical fallen West that I heard so often about
  • Zakopane, some of the worst highlanders in the world who constantly want to scam and harass you, there are much better mountain resorts and mountains anyway and not even that far away
  • Kaliningrad, it is quite an accomplishment to turn former capital of Prussia into poor, provincial Russian town in the likes of Kursk or Orel. Very Soviet vibe and not in a good way. Also the countryside is not much better. At least they build sidewalks and pedestrian crossings European way, even Moscow with all its money can't do this.
