Hello! Welcome to Wikivoyage. Thanks for plunging forward so far. If you're going to continue working on Wikivoyage, you may find the tips for new contributors helpful.

You should also make sure you understand our copyleft and policies and guidelines. Scanning the Manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted.

If you need help, check out Project:Help, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub or on the talk page for the most appropriate article.

Thanks for your work on Odessa and Ukraine! --(WT-en) Evan 18:29, 30 Jun 2005 (EDT)

...and also Kosovo! --(WT-en) Evan 08:34, 4 Jul 2005 (EDT)
I lived in Kosovo, Bosnia, Montenegro and Serbia for a total of two years so I should be able to cover that region pretty well. I'll add what I know on Albania and Croatia (WT-en) Aburda 08:57, 4 Jul 2005 (EDT)

Images

[edit]

Hi Aaron, thanks for all of your work on Sarajevo, but please take a look at the Project:Image policy. Specifically, although I'm fairly certain you are the photographer for each of these images, it would be helpful if you could state in the image description something like "photo by Abdura" to make it clear that the image is not a copyright violation. In addition, for Image:Sarajevo old woman.JPG, a model release is required from that woman in order to publish her photo.

That said, I like your photos and hope to see more! -- (WT-en) Wrh2 18:37, 4 Jul 2005 (EDT)

Also Image:Brod local.jpg requires a model release and copyright notice. Image:Brod canyon.jpg probably also needs one, though since the figures are very small and indistinct, so this is a marginal call. Please be aware that images that violate the Project:Image policy will be deleted, no matter how good they are - sorry. These are nice images and it would be nice to have them, unfortunately there is a little legal matter of copyright release that needs to be overcome first. In this area the motto is: if in doubt - don't. -- (WT-en) Huttite 07:43, 5 Jul 2005 (EDT)

Official greeters

[edit]

We're all official greeters. Just keep an eye on the Recent changes page, if you see edits coming in from an account without a Talk page (red link) then just go and post the Project:Welcome message. (WT-en) Jpatokal 21:36, 12 Aug 2005 (EDT)

Indeed! I've been glad to see you've been welcoming people -- please keep it up! As Jpatokal says, the Wikivoyage "standard" welcome message is a nice start (it has all the good links in there), but I note you've been linking to the tips for new contributors, which is also a great place to start. --(WT-en) Evan 21:50, 12 Aug 2005 (EDT)

Prague

[edit]

Hi. I notice you spent a bit of time working on the Prague page last year, and have lived in CR for quite a while. I've been cleaning the page up and moving listings into the district pages, but I'm totally lost when it comes to Praha 1. If you have a chance, it would be awesome if you could move any of the ones you know into the Old Town, New Town etc district pages. Thanks so much (WT-en) Thewayoftheduck 01:31, 21 July 2006 (EDT)
