Hello! Welcome to Wikivoyage. Thanks for plunging forward so far. If you're going to continue working on Wikivoyage, you may find the tips for new contributors helpful.

You should also make sure you understand our copyleft and policies and guidelines. Scanning the Manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted.

If you need help, check out Project:Help, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub or on the talk page for the most appropriate article.

I notice that you're doing a lot of interwiki links. That's great! Keep up the good work! --(WT-en) Evan 10:20, 25 March 2006 (EST)

Babel

[edit]

So, we don't really have a Userboxes system on Wikivoyage, and I'd point out that the system on Wikipedia has been really controversial. If you're going to get this started, could you start a documentation page, like Project:Userboxes or Project:Babel? --(WT-en) Evan 11:15, 2 April 2006 (EDT)

The Sapphire Barnstar

Thanks again for your fantastic interwiki work. --(WT-en) Evan 13:45, 14 April 2006 (EDT)

Seems like we should thank you at least twice a day, but then your user talk page would be exceptional long. Is the interwiki work the only thing you do or have you done other work? Anyhow, Thanks. -- (WT-en) Andrew Haggard (Sapphire) 01:42, 15 July 2006 (EDT)
I'm writing some articles on ja.--(WT-en) Episteme 17:45, 16 July 2006 (EDT)

I award you this barnstar because of the amazing amount of work you do on every single version of Wikivoyage. Thank you. -- (WT-en) Andrew Haggard (Sapphire) 01:33, 12 August 2006 (EDT)

Can you add a comment to the talk page for this template to explain what it is for? Thanks! -- (WT-en) Ryan 14:51, 23 August 2006 (EDT)

Braille keyboards and such

[edit]

Yesterday, several of us were discussing the amazing amount of work you do. How exactly do you do the interwiki work? How do you translate every single article/policy page? Also, is there any chance you're blind and use a braille keyboard? or voice commands? -- (WT-en) Sapphire 15:29, 25 September 2006 (EDT)

I'm just using an ordinary laptop and doing all work by hand, owing Wikipedia and OpenDirectory's interlanguage links very much to find related articles in Wikivoyage language versions. I'm considering using pywikipedia to automate interwiki but it'll be tough for me to modify it for Wikivoyage because I'm new to Python. --(WT-en) Episteme 12:29, 26 September 2006 (EDT)

Japanese Check

[edit]

Hey, could you check my work in Japanese that I am doing for Azerbaijan? I saw 母語 so I'd really appreciate any help that you can offer! —The preceding comment was added by (WT-en) Cupcakecommander (talkcontribs)

hey epi help me out please. —The preceding comment was added by (WT-en) 74.69.245.148 (talkcontribs)

My opition is roughly same as Jpatokal's in ja:User talk:(WT-ja) Cupcakecommander#Your contributions. I'd hate to say nasty things but I'm afraid your Japanese sentences still need so many corrections to be suitable for a decent Wikivoyage article. Please be patient. --(WT-en) Episteme 21:52, 5 January 2007 (EST) P.S. this comment is meant for User:(WT-en) Cupcakecommander. --(WT-en) Episteme 04:52, 6 January 2007 (EST)
That's strange 74.69.245.148, who posted the above comments is the one that acts like, for the lack of better description, a complete moron. (WT-en) Cupcakecommander, on the other hand, hasn't made a single edit to Maine, can comprehend basic instructions, and makes useful edits, while the aforementioned idiot can't even clothe himself. I'm hesitant to believe these are the same people and I'd urge you to question the identity of the person on ja:, unless 74.69.245.148 has us all fooled by living a double life. -- (WT-en) Andrew H. (Sapphire) 22:09, 5 January 2007 (EST)
Thanks for your attention, Sapphire. I guess the IP user simply asked me for a "me-too" request after Cupcakecommander's. Having seen their contribution history, I think User:(WT-en) Cupcakecommander and ja:User:(WT-ja) Cupcakecommander are the same person while the above two are not. FYI the IP user has never appeared in ja:. --(WT-en) Episteme 04:52, 6 January 2007 (EST)

Nominated

[edit]

Please see Project:Administrator_nominations#Episteme and let us know if you'd be so kind as to accept. Thanks! -- (WT-en) Sapphire 20:46, 20 February 2007 (EST)

Phil nominated you on de: too. See de:Project:Nominierungen_zum_Administrator#.5B.5BUser:Episteme.7CEpisteme.5D.5D. Basically, what he said was that you're unable to contribute in German, but we want to give you a revert button, especially since you noticed vandalism on the Kasachstan article that we missed. -- (WT-en) Sapphire 22:38, 20 February 2007 (EST)
In the words of the Grand Poobah of the Asian Sphere of Co-prosperity - bump. Would you let us know if you accept or decline? Thanks. -- (WT-en) Sapphire(Talk) • 10:24, 4 March 2007 (EST)

I think Evan changed your status, you should see the extra buttons now (WT-en) - Cacahuate 19:58, 9 March 2007 (EST)

Ola my fellow Wikivoyageer,

Thank you so much for for correcting our enthusiasm with the correct links. It is very much appreciated {(WT-en) 3wisemen}

Azeri Village-French Page

[edit]

Could you add Kish Village to the French version of Sheki in Azerbaijan? I am having some of the youth from my Kish youth group write some of the information for the guide, but they speak French and Azeri, not English so I'd appreciate it if could could do that because I can not write it in French. Thanks!! (WT-en) Cupcakecommander 07:58, 10 April 2007 (EDT)

Could you please explain more precisely? "French version of Sheki" does not exist yet. What do you want me to do? --(WT-en) Episteme 14:34, 12 April 2007 (EDT)

Could you please interwiki the following articles to Hindi (hi).

Thanks (WT-en) Upamanyu 12:52, 20 April 2007 (EDT)

Stranger

[edit]

Hello, stranger. How are you? -- (WT-en) Sapphire(Talk) • 22:51, 31 May 2008 (EDT)

I'll be gradually back... Thanks. --(WT-en) Episteme 02:17, 1 June 2008 (EDT)

Folkston

[edit]

I don't understand your decision to remove list of calendar events.. How am I to rewrite calendar events?

As I mentioned in your talk page, the text is identical to an external website, so it is regarded as copyright violation and must be removed (unless you are the copyright holder or you have permission). You can write about the events with your own text. For details please see Wikivoyage:Copyleft#Can I copy text to Wikivoyage from other sites?, Project:Copyright details etc. --(WT-en) Episteme 13:13, 3 October 2008 (EDT)

Lombardy

[edit]

Having seen the history list on the Lombardy article I see that you have made quite a few contibutions, anyway I have put on the talk page there about re-organizing the Sub-Regions/Provinces there.--(WT-en) HJ.Phillips94 14:10, 17 March 2009 (EDT)
